The FORFEX electro-mechanical traffic detector provides reliable detection of train travel direction at a defined point on the track. Installed directly on the rail using a dedicated support fitting, the device converts wheel impact energy into mechanical actuation to operate direction-dependent electrical contacts.
This proven technology enables safe and dependable control of signalling functions associated with train movements, including level crossing operation, signal activation and points control within marshalling yards and industrial rail environments.
The detector incorporates dual independent torque shafts and adjustable oil dashpots to ensure consistent switching performance across a wide range of operating speeds.
